The Monastic Touch: Light, Shadow, and Red Clay
The architects wanted to create a calm, monastic retreat. They did this by balancing simple textures with moody, dramatic lighting.
One of the most striking parts of the room is the large, earthy red grid wall stretching behind the kitchen counter. Inspired by traditional Chinese medicine apothecaries, this feature wall is filled with rows of small, dark drawers. Some drawers are left slightly open to show off tiny, curated objects that hint at old traditions and food memories.
